A man who was shot Wednesday evening in Jamaica Plain has died, Boston police said Thursday.

The shooting was reported at a housing complex on St. Rose Street, according to the Boston Police Department, which received the call at 5:51 p.m.

The wounded man was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he was later pronounced dead.

No arrests were announced as of Thursday afternoon. Boston police urged anyone with information about what happened to contact homicide detectives at 617-343-4470. Boston police are investigating a shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Police haven't publicly identified the man who died.
