FRISCO, Texas — In my opinion — and that is the purpose of this — the Cowboys have made both the best and worst trades in the NFL this year. Now GM Jerry Jones deliberates whether to make yet another.

At one end of the spectrum is the trade in which the Cowboys acquired wide receiver George Pickens, and at the other is the trade of Micah Parsons a week before the season opener. The two transactions reflect why the Cowboys rank No. 1 in the NFL in offense and No. 32 in defense.

The NFL’s Nov. 4 trade deadline approaches, coming after the Cowboys play at Denver and a Monday night home game against the Cardinals. Winning both games could incentivize Jones to invest in the current season.
