Capitals cut ties with 30-year old forward after return from Russia
Sheldon Rempal had a huge season last year in the KHL in Russia.
That prompted his return stateside to try and get back into the NHL. But the trip hasn't lasted very long.
Rempal was placed on waivers on Thursday by the Washington Capitals , according to Elliotte Friedman , likely to lead to his mutual contract termination.
The Capitals signed Rempal to a two-way deal early in free agency. Last season with Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the KHL, Rempal had 31 goals and 30 assists in 68 games.
Rempal has only played for AHL Hershey so far this season. Through four games, he had a goal and an assist.
