SPRINGFIELD — A 19-year-old city man is being locked up as a danger to the public because of multiple violent criminal incidents in the past year, law enforcement officials say.

Malachi Williams allegedly participated in a shooting at Union Station, attacked a pregnant woman, committed an armed carjacking, and broke into an apartment building on Elliot Street. All of the incidents occurred this year, according to a statement from the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.

At a dangerousness hearing on Oct. 14, a District Court judge reviewed each of the incidents and determined Williams should be held without the right to bail.
