The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam targeting residents.
According to the sheriff’s office, several people have reported receiving calls from individuals posing as law enforcement officers. The scammers are reportedly threatening victims with fake arrest warrants and demanding payment over the phone.
Deputies emphasize that law enforcement does not serve warrants or collect bail, bond, or any kind of payment by telephone.
Officials urge anyone who receives such a call to hang up immediately and not share personal or financial information.
