ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke Minnick School, which serves students with emotional and intellectual disabilities, partnered with local law enforcement agencies to host a career day Thursday.
Students had the opportunity to meet with various law enforcement agencies and other organizations to learn about the diverse career opportunities available to them and the ways they can contribute to serving their community after graduation.
“A big part of what we do is wanting our kids to be productive citizens in society, and that starts here with giving them the skills and teaching them those skills. In doing that, we’ve got to show them where you can use those skills in society,” said Roanoke Minnick School Principal Rebecca Bays.
