SALT LAKE CITY — After operating for 49 years, the Jet Star 2 ride at Lagoon Amusement Park is coming to a close.
According to a Facebook post from the park, the ride made its debut in 1976. Since then, it has been “a piece of Utah history and one of the park’s most popular attractions for nearly five decades.”
The 1,900-foot coaster will retire at the end of the 2025 season, meaning the last chance to ride it is this fall. It will stay open for two bonus weekends, from Oct. 31 to Nov. 9, 2025, as weather and other factors permit.
While Jet Star 2 is going away, Lagoon urges fans not to worry as the park is planning a “worthy successor.”
