RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A public art initiative is inviting community members to help paint a mural that highlights the importance of cancer research and tumor tissue donation in cancer care.
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center is holding "Brushstrokes of Discovery" at the entrance of RVA Big Market Place in Bryan Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The mural project was developed by VCU Massey researcher Jennifer Koblinski, student Nina Dashti-Gibson and community advocate Ron Thompson.
Sketched by local artists Rain Spann, Khalid Thompson and Silly Genius, the mural invites the public to help complete the painting.
