BALTIMORE —

Fans, community members and leaders gathered Thursday to lay Captain Dee-Fense, a Ravens superfan who died earlier this month , to rest.

To Ravens fans, he was superfan Captain Dee-Fense. To his daughters, Wes Henson was dad. Many reflected on his legacy and the love he inspired.

"Keep screaming your tails off on third down... That's what Wes would want you to do. It was his whole shtick," said Ravens superfan Dan Granofsky, better known as "Real Fan Dan."

For decades, since the Ravens came to Baltimore, there has been Captain Dee-Fense leading chants in the stands. People dressed in purple sitting in pews to honor the superfan at March Funeral Home in Windsor Mill on Thursday.
