Emma Stone says she almost chose a different stage name when she was younger.
While appearing on the Oct. 23 episode of " The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, " the actor, whose real name is Emily Jean Stone, said she tried to be known as Riley when she was younger.
Stone explained in previous interviews that the name Emily Stone was "taken" at the Screen Actors Guild, and so she needed a new name.
"I actually adopted a stage name for, I would say, like six months because the Screen Actors Guild, it’s like the Business Bureau. You can only have one person with that name,” she said. "I was 16, and I decided I wanted to be Riley for like six months. So I was Riley Stone."
Stone is credited as " Riley Stone" in the IMDb page for "Medium," which she appeared in in 2005.
