LUXEMBURG, Wis. (WBAY) - Luxemburg-Casco High School students got the chance to see up close what working in the state’s manufacturing field looks like on Thursday.
It’s encouraging teens to take part in the school’s youth apprenticeship programs.
The district is championed for having lots of kids take part in those programs, bolstering the state’s future workforce.
Officials from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) stopped by to see the opportunities offered and emphasized why the programs are important for employers and students alike.
“It’s so important for businesses to use all kinds of tools and pathways to recruit new employees and new workforces that are a generation coming up from school, and the best way to do that is through apprenticeship,” said Amy Pecha
