Sydney police are seeking an unknown man as they continue to investigate how a sacred war memorial in the city was vandalised.
Officers today released CCTV images of the man they wish to speak with over damage to the Anzac War Memorial in Hyde Park last month.
The unknown man entered the memorial about 2.40pm on Thursday, September 25 and poured an oil-like liquid onto stones and a metal memorial plaque before leaving.
Police were later called and officers set up a crime scene.
Despite efforts from caretakers to remove the liquid, the memorial remains damaged.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between the ages of 40 and 50, of a medium build, with dark hair, a beard and was last seen wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt.
