Police are searching for a man after a major war memorial was permanently damaged by oil-like liquid poured across the monument.
An unknown man entered the Anzac War Memorial in Sydney's Hyde Park on September 25, where police allege he poured small amounts of the liquid onto stones and an Anzac memorial plaque, before leaving.
Police said they received reports of malicious damage about 2.40pm the following day, and Sydney City Police established a crime scene and began an investigation.
Despite the caretakers' efforts to remove the liquid, police said the memorial remained damaged.
CCTV released on October 24 showed a man police are seeking to interview, who was seen in the area at the time of the alleged damage.
