EDDINGTON -- Authorities on Thursday, October 23, say at least two cats are dead and an apartment is a total loss as a result of a fire in Eddington.
According to Eddington Deputy Fire Chief Craig Russell, crews were dispatched to Riverside Drive at 11:52 a.m. for a reported fire in the kitchen of the first floor of the two-story apartment building.
Upon arrival, Chief Russell says fire was coming out of the windows on the front side of the building.
He says there were no injuries to either the public or first responders. Several cats were rescued; however, at least two perished in the incident.
Out of the six total apartments, Russell says one is a total loss, two received minor damage, and the others remained untouched.
