ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) -- A Catholic priest who served several parishes across Genesee County has been suspended following allegations of sexual harassment and other inappropriate conduct, according to the Diocese of Buffalo.

The diocese said Rev. Patrick T. O’Keefe has been removed from ministry and stripped of his priestly duties while church officials conduct a canonical judicial review.

O’Keefe was ordained in 1996 and most recently served at Ascension and Resurrection parishes in Batavia, St. Brigid Parish in Bergen, and Our Lady of Mercy Parish in LeRoy.

The suspension comes amid what diocesan officials describe as ongoing efforts to enforce stricter accountability measures for clergy and church staff.
