BUFFALO, N.Y. — New technology from Erie County Central Police Services is helping East Aurora police dispatchers find people in emergencies faster and with pinpoint accuracy.
The system, called RapidSOS, uses cell towers and other digital tracking tools to locate 911 callers more precisely than ever before. It can even allow dispatchers to connect with callers via live video, similar to FaceTime, so they can see the situation in real time.

Dispatchers say the new system represents a major upgrade over traditional caller tracking methods.
