New data shows the rate of coercive control offences in the central west is three times higher than the state average.

The fresh coercive control numbers from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research highlight that the region's war on domestic violence is no longer just about physical assault.

Cases of intimidation, tracking and financial abuse are occurring at a rate of 10.7 incidents per 100,000 people in the central west.

That's three times the NSW state rate of 3.6, the Coercive Control Monitoring Report reveals, with the numbers covering the first 12 months of new coercive control offences from July 1, 2024.

According to the report, the coercive control issue in the central west is significantly high.
