WASHINGTON — District officials are pressing Pepco for answers after a series of prolonged power outages left parts of Northwest, including Dupont West and Foggy Bottom, without electricity for days at a time this year.
Residents and business owners say they are frustrated not only by the blackouts themselves, but also by what they describe as poor communication from the utility company.
During a DC Council oversight hearing this week, Ward 2 Councilmember Brooke Pinto, who chairs the Public Safety and Judiciary Committee, questioned Pepco officials and city regulators about the recurring outages and the company’s response.
