AUBURN — The SEC has suspended longtime official Ken Williamson for the remainder of the 2025 season, according to a report from ESPN on Thursday, Oct. 23.
The decision came following Williamson's performance in Auburn football 's 20-10 loss to Georgia on Oct. 11.
According to ESPN's report, Williamson, who was the game's crew chief, previously informed the league he planned to retire at this season's end. The news was first reported Wednesday, Oct. 22, by the Yellowhammer News .
The SEC declined a request for comment from the Athens Banner-Herald on Wednesday, saying "The SEC does not comment on personnel matters."
