WATSONVILLE — On Thursday, Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County celebrated 10,000 deliveries of healthy food boxes through its partnership with DoorDash.

The food bank provides medically supportive grocery boxes and nutrition counseling to community members with chronic conditions, a program run through Medi-Cal and covered by Central California Alliance for Health. Second Harvest started the program in July 2024, and a few months later the food bank partnered with DoorDash to deliver the boxes to households across Santa Cruz County. Since its inception, the program has given out over 14,000 boxes, some 10,000 of which were delivered through the Project DASH partnership.
