RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A bicyclist has died after he was hit by a car in Richmond on Thursday afternoon.

On Oct. 23, just before 3:30 p.m., officers were called to the 1500 block of West Broad Street for the report of a collision.

Officers arrived and found a man unconscious after being struck by a dark colored sedan.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene and determined that the driver of the vehicle was traveling southbound on Bowe Street and attempting to make a right turn onto West Broad Street when he struck the bicyclist who was riding eastbound on Broad Street, crossing Bowe Street.

The vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
