Los Angeles Chargers rookie tight end Oronde Gadsden II has achieved a historic milestone for the franchise. He was named Rookie of the Week, becoming the first Chargers player to receive the honor since 2021.

The last recipient was Asante Samuel Jr., and before him, Justin Herbert earned the award nine times during his 2020 rookie season.

At just 22 years old, Gadsden has quickly become a reliable asset for the team. He currently ranks ninth among all tight ends in receiving yards.
