PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Providers at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center have implemented a new artificial intelligence (AI) program, which helps transcribe their clinic notes during appointments with patients. The new program allows doctors to spend less time taking notes at the computer and more time speaking directly to their patients.
For many patients, finding the time to see a doctor can already be hard enough. And once they finally get to speak with their doctor, the doctor tends to be chained to their computer during the appointment, having to constantly take notes. Sometimes, this means the doctor’s focus is pulled away from the patient.
