Violence Interrupters turn standoff into 'a good day for everyone'

CARBONDALE — Too often we see violence in the community that is born out of moments of desperation, disagreement or mental crisis. It is in these moments where a situation can turn into a tragedy.

On Monday, Carbondale police responded to the 500 block of East Jackson Street, where a man had barricaded himself into a building with a gun.
