NEW BRITAIN – The New Britain football team rallied from a double-digit first half deficit to beat Glastonbury in overtime, 28-22 Thursday night.

New Britain scored first in overtime when Jayden Allen had a 1-yard touchdown run and went up 28-22 and the Hurricanes’ defense made a goal line stand to keep Glastonbury from scoring to preserve the victory.

Glastonbury tied the score in last second of regulation on a 25-yard field goal by Thomas Pingel.

Glastonbury scored first with two field goals by Pingel – the first a 33-yarder with 5:47 left in the first quarter and the second a 34-yarder with 9:45 left in the second quarter and the Guardians led 6-0 in the first half.
