MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) - A long-lasting and beloved place for Menasha residents and those nearby is putting its buoys away for good.

The Menasha Common Council voted on October 20 after a facility tour and long discussion, approving a staff and Parks and Recreation Board recommendation to close the Menasha Pool after nearly 70 years.

Officials stated in the release that short-term repairs are unsustainable due to the high cost. The need for repairs was brought forth after an in-depth post-season assessment, which indicated a serious decline in the facility.
