TOWNSEND, Mass. —
Several farm animals, including over half a dozen sheep and goats, have been killed by a brazen bear in a Massachusetts town, officials said.
Three goats who lived at a home in Townsend were taken to veterinarian Chad McGee's New Hampshire farm after a 4th goat was killed by a bear.
Townsend is near Massachusetts' border with New Hampshire and is around 50 miles from Boston.
Evidence of the goat's slaying was found on a fence, as well as drag marks leading into nearby woods.
Just down the road, a bear tore apart a barn door, gaining access to the sheep inside and killing one.
Sister station WCVB reports that it comes after a black bear attacked farm animals earlier this month, killing a goat and a chicken.
