A suspicious fire has destroyed a home on the NSW far south coast, just metres away from where a man was fatally stabbed two weeks ago.
Emergency services were called to East Street in Bega at 2am on Friday, where a single-storey house was engulfed by flames.
The same street was also the scene of a "violent confrontation" on October 6, that resulted in the death of a 43-year-old man whose body was found in a nearby park.
A second man was taken to hospital in a critical condition following the fight involving a number of people, one of whom was carrying a chainsaw.
Fire and Rescue NSW told the ABC the single-storey house was "fully involved in fire", which took about 90 minutes to extinguish.
No-one was in the home at the time.
