AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Emergency medical personnel and fire crews responded to a structure fire in Aiken Thursday night.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office confirms that crews responded to the structure fire in the 500 block of Lakeview Avenue around 8:30 p.m.

Remembering Deputy J.D. Paugh: 14 years since a hero’s sacrifice

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is remembering Deputy James David “J.D.” Paugh, who made the ultimate sacrifice 14 years ago.

No word yet on whether any occupants were inside and what may have caused the fire.
