CLEVELAND, Ohio — Drought conditions in Ohio saw only modest changes over the past week, according to the latest update from the U.S. Drought Monitor.

The update, which covered up until 8 a.m. Tuesday, didn’t include the heavy lake-effect rain that fell in Northeast Ohio on Wednesday and Thursday.

In Northeast Ohio, the latest update looks much like last week’s , which brought only minor improvement to the region.

Nearly all of Cuyahoga and Lake counties remained in moderate drought, while Geauga and Ashtabula counties were abnormally dry across their southern portions. Lorain County continued to show severe drought in its western areas, moderate drought across much of the county, and abnormally dry conditions to the south.
