The European Union adopted its 19th package of Russia sanctions on Thursday, banning what it called ‘Indian and Chinese entities". The EU did not specify which entities were targeted.
In its 19th package, EU moved to ban Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports, Central Asian banks and a Russian prison medic. Reuters , who first reported the development, said that Chinese refiners were also sanctioned.
The overall package would make it increasingly hard for Russian President Vladimir Putin to fund his invasion of Ukraine, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said in a post on X.
