A Patna-bound SpiceJet flight was forced to return to Delhi shortly after takeoff on Thursday after the crew suspected a technical glitch mid-air, officials said.

The Boeing 737-8A aircraft, which had departed from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in the morning, was diverted back to the capital minutes into the flight after the cockpit crew observed irregular indications in the system. The pilots alerted the Air Traffic Control and sought priority landing clearance as a precautionary measure.
