SALT LAKE CITY — A competitor was injured at the Race Gun Nationals competition in Hurricane Thursday morning after a gun was accidentally fired, event organizers said.
“ During the morning stages of the Race Gun Nationals in Hurricane, Utah, a competitor experienced an accidental discharge,” the event announced.
The United States Practical Shooting Association said range officers, staff and volunteers provided first aid to the injured competitor. He was then taken to a nearby hospital, and had since been released.
“The swift and professional response from our staff and volunteers ensured the best possible outcome in an unfortunate situation. USPSA will remain in contact with the competitor throughout his recovery,” organizers announced . USPSA said nobody else was injured.
