LOUSIA CO., Iowa (KWQC) - Deputies are investigating an ATM theft suspected to be apart of a national ring, the Louisa County Sheriff said.
Sheriff Brandon Marquardt said it all started when a pickup truck was stolen from a home in Yarmouth, Iowa, Monday morning.
The truck was driven to a bank ATM in the 500 block of South Main Street in Morning Sun, Iowa, Marquardt said.
He said the two suspects used pry bars to open the front doors and attached chains to the ATM.
The suspects took two cassettes with an unknown amount of cash from the ATM before running to a dark colored car that was waiting, he said.
They drove to Highway 78, he said, but officials don’t know which way they went at this time.
