JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Raising awareness for those struggling with mental health issues.
Illinois College will host its "Scary But True: In Plain Sight Simulation" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Caine Fireside Lounge.
The early session will be open to the Illinois College community, while the other session is open to the public.
The simulation will feature a living space featuring everyday items that hide signs of risky behavior, including drug or alcohol abuse, or mental health struggles, according to the college.
Additionally, there will be educational materials like handouts, conversation starters and other information about local support services available to attendees.
