CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The city of Cleveland has hired the independent firm, Sigma Squared, a data analytics company to determine whether racial disparities exist within the Cleveland Division of Police. The firm was co-founded by nationally-renowned Harvard Economist Dr. Roland Fryer.

The partnership is already paying off, according to Cleveland Police Chief Dorothy Todd and Dr. Leigh Anderson, the Executive Director of the Police Accountability Team.

Dr. Anderson addressed reporters during a news conference at City Hall, saying, “Every resident deserves confidence that police decisions are guided by behavior and evidence, not race, gender, or background.
