LOS ANGELES — Taylor Swift has secured her first nomination for the Songwriters Hall of Fame in her inaugural year of eligibility, potentially making history as the first recipient of the organization's Starlight Award to advance to full membership.
Swift became eligible for the honor 20 years after her debut single "Tim McGraw" was released in June 2006, meeting the organization's threshold for nomination consideration for the 2026 induction ceremony.
The pop superstar, who received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2010, would become the first person to graduate from the Starlight Award — an honor for promising songwriters established in 2004 — to full membership status if selected.
