CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- With the federal shutdown threatening to cut off SNAP benefits starting November 1, Gov. Glenn Youngkin has declared a state of emergency to make sure Virginians don’t lose access to food assistance.
Director of Charlottesville Social Services Leon Henry said this is a sigh of relief, especially ahead of the holidays.
