United States President Donald Trump on Thursday took a confrontational stance toward China , accusing Beijing of facilitating the flow of fentanyl into the United States via Venezuela and saying the matter will top the agenda when he meets Chinese President Xi Jinping next week. Asked at a White House event whether China was using Venezuela as a transit point for fentanyl shipments, Trump replied, “They are doing that,” and said he would press Xi directly on the issue during their meeting on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Busan , South Korea. “The first question I'm going to be asking him about is fentanyl,” he said.
