SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a deadly crash in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

Around 7:55 p.m. Thursday, a crash involving one vehicle happened on Brockman McClimon Road near Van Patton Road, which is approximately four miles south of Greer.

According to Highway Patrol, a 2016 GMC Canyon pickup truck was traveling east on Brockman McClimon Road, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road and into a tree.

Troopers said the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken to the hospital where they later died. The coroner's office has not released the name of the victim.
