What do internationally known Danish brands like Cecilie Bahnsen , Saks Potts , Anne Sofie Madsen , and Peter Jensen have in common? They have all been recipients of the Wessel & Vett Fashion Prize of 500,000 DK, or about $77,800. As the 2025 winner, Nicklas Skovgaard joins this privileged group.
The award takes its name from Theodore Wessel and Emil Vett who founded the Magasin du Nord department store in 1868. Separate from the shop, which is located in the center of town, the great, great grandchildren of the latter established the Wessel & Vett Foundation in 2012 as a way to support Danish design.
