Residents fear a major development on the edge of A1 and A14 could bring more traffic into their village. Endurance Estates has proposed to build Brampton Cross to the west of the A1 and north of the A14.

The new business park, if approved, could create up to 15,000 new jobs and generate £20 million every year in business rates. Back in August, a multi-parish working group released an open letter against the development, stating it could cause an “immense strain on infrastructure”.

The letter also raised concerns about the potential flood risk as it is supposedly on flood 3 risk land, which means it has a “high probability of flooding”. Some residents have said they fear the development could bring more traffic into the village.
