WEST COVINA – The South Hills girls volleyball team ended the season the same way it did in 2024, with a loss in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.

The Huskies (12-11) struggled with their serve all night as they lost to Arrowhead Christian, 25-14, 29-27, 25-16, on Thursday night.

The Eagles (16-11) advance to the quarterfinals. They will play at Cantwell Sacred Heart on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Cantwell Sacred Heart defeated St. Paul in five sets Thursday.

“That was a tough way to end the season,” Huskies coach Lexy Mendoza said. “They exploited our weaknesses, which was our off-block defense and our deep corners. Give them credit, those are hard shots to make and to be consistent and hit those spots and find our weaknesses when we were out of position was too
