LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — More than 30 people, including current and former NBA stars and coaches, are under arrest in a massive gambling bust involving schemes to rig sports bets and poker games connected to mafia families, the FBI announced Thursday.
Indictment documents show the schemes involved multiple NBA players providing inside information to co-conspirators who used the tips to place large bets on games.
Las Vegas connection
Among those arrested is Shane Hennen, also known as “Sugar,” who has ties to Las Vegas, according to the FBI. The FBI said Hennen lived in Pennsylvania and Nevada and claimed on social media to be a successful sports bettor.
