Multiple security personnel opened fire Thursday night at a U-Haul truck that had been backing up to the entrance to Coast Guard Island, where protesters had spent the day rallying against the planned arrival of federal immigration agents.
It was not immediately clear whether anyone was injured in the shooting, which happened at about 10 p.m. and was captured by camera crews for television station KTVU.
In the footage, a U-Haul can be seen backing up to the entrance to a bridge leading to the isle, where several armed security personnel had their guns drawn and appeared to be yelling orders at the vehicle’s driver. Several personnel can then be seen firing their weapons dozens of times — at which point, the U-Haul speeds out of the camera’s view.
