The Paud police in Pune Rural have launched an investigation after a cattle shed worker was found bludgeoned to death near a bungalow in Darawali village in Pune’s Mulshi taluka Friday morning.
The police identified the deceased as Sagar Bhaurao Meshram, 32, a native of Gangapuri in Wai taluka, Satara. An offence has been registered against an unidentified person for killing the cattle shed worker, officers said.
A team from Paud police station rushed to the spot for investigation after being alerted about the matter. Sandeep Singh Gill, Superintendent of Police (SP), Pune Rural, said the crime took place near Parmar bungalow, which has allegedly been encroached upon by Dhananjay Desai, chief of the right-wing outfit Hindu Rashtra Sena.
