“I think he’s afraid to make a bet,” a smiling Carney told reporters while visiting the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre on Thursday afternoon. “He hasn’t returned my call yet on the bet.”
“I’m ready. We’re ready to make a bet with the U.S.,” the prime minister added.
During his visit, Carney spoke to Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro, general manager Ross Atkins and manager John Schneider in the dugout.
Carney reiterated the Blue Jays will beat the Dodgers in six games.
“The country is so pumped. I think the world is pumped for this series,” said Carney, who then acknowledged the Japanese media covering Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and quipped that they’re not going to win.
