INDIANAPOLIS – A woman was killed and a man critically injured following an early Friday morning police pursuit.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident started around 3:30 a.m. near West Troy Avenue and Westbrook Avenue on the near southwest side.
Officers located a vehicle and ran the license plate. They discovered the registered owner of the vehicle had active felony warrants and initiated a traffic stop.
The driver didn’t pull over, however, leading to a chase. The driver exceeded 100 mph during the pursuit, according to Capt. John Arvin with IMPD.
The driver led police on Kentucky Avenue, Harding Street and Raymond Street, weaving through different lanes and sometimes traveling in the opposite direction of traffic.
