FOLLY BEACH — A new face will be chosen to lead the city for the first time in 15 years on Nov. 4.
Folly Beach voters will elect a new mayor and three council members this election. Residents will choose from five candidates for the mayor’s office and six for the trio of council seats open .
Tim Goodwin , the city’s three-term mayor, announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking reelection. Council members William Farley and Skip Fink will defend their seats against four candidates. Councilman D.J. Rich, whose council term is up, opted for a mayoral run.
Folly Beach elections are non-partisan. Council members are elected at-large for staggered four-year terms. If a candidate does not receive a majority of votes cast, a runoff election will be held on Nov. 18.
