The National Weather Service has issued two separate hazardous weather warnings for Western North Carolina and other areas of the state and its neighbors.

With dry, windy conditions and plenty of dry fuel in the affected areas, a fire danger warning was issued at 10:13 a.m. on Oct. 23. Additionally, a freeze warning, coinciding closely with the area's average first frost dates as defined by the Climate Prediction Center, was issued at 12:20 p.m. on Oct. 23.
